Article Spotlight

Catherine Hartman

Catherine Hartman earned a PhD in the Program in Higher Education Leadership at The University of Texas at Austin. Catherine’s research interests include community college student success, student transfer from community colleges to four-year school, and linguistically diverse students’ experiences in college.

Catherine earned a M.Ed. in Higher Educational Policy, Planning, and Leadership and a B.A. in English Language and Literature from William & Mary.

Current Issue

We are pleased to announce the publication of Volume 10, Issue 2 of the Texas Education Review. The Special Issue examines critical topics in Cultural Studies in Education between the UT Austin and UT Rio Grande Valley Programs. Articles cover topics in Indigenous Autoethnography (Montes); Critical Social Studies Curriculum (Caddel); Art Integration (Link); Borderlands and Nepantla (Eufracio); Politics of Caring and Complicity (Luna); and Critical Race Theorizing of Graduate Student Experience (Bigelow, Pineda, McLean). The issue also contains three open call articles: A mixed methods analysis of administrative burden in college classrooms (Lovell); a philosophical analysis of music pedagogy (Schmidt); and a reflection on meaningful work in the university (Almond).
